Movie Capsules - Dose 2

‘Dead Poets’ Society’: A free-thinking English teacher introduces rather unorthodox methods of teaching in a traditional boys' school. Although some of the boys are inspired to 'seize the day' with this approach, the school authorities and the parents are not very happy with the old order being challenged. When something goes very wrong in the boys' lives, it is the teacher who is held accountable.'Dead Poets' Society' is a must-see movie for all students, parents and educationists.

'Great Expectations' starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke based on Charles Dickens' novel is a modern adaptation, but very well directed and artistically made! Loved it. Shed a few tears since parts of it were quite touching:-)

'Dr. Zhivago' based on the classic of the same name by Boris Pasternak is the story of Lara and the three men who play a pivotal role in her life. A pretty bleak story set in wintry Russia during the revolution.

'Black Swan’: Natalie Portman has done an amazing job playing Nina who, in discovering the black swan within her, almost loses herself in the journey. The direction is brilliant and Mila Kunis is the perfect choice for a natural black swan.

Martin Scorsese's 'Cape Fear' : I'm the biggest scaredy cat this side of Mars, but this movie made in 1991 totally failed to scare me. It’s supposed to be a thriller and a classic at that. I found Scorsese's 'Shutter Island' terrifying. Guess technology and film making have come a long way.

'Horrible Bosses': Three insanely foul-mouthed bosses: one a coke-addict, another a sadist and the third, a man-eating nymphomaniac. Three whipped employees trying to kill their bosses. Absurd, but hysterical!
