'Michael Jackson's Halloween' on Zee Cafe
I just watched 'Michael Jackson's Halloween' on Zee Cafe. Loved it! A great animated film for all creative people, romantics, music lovers, kids, and fans of Micahel Jackson.
The story starts with a young girl, an intern who is being ill-treated by her autocratic boss. She is asked to walk her boss's dog on Halloween night, which she chooses to do, hoping to become another "cog in the wheel". Meanwhile, in another part of town, a young boy aspires to be a DJ, but his dad wants him to inherit and run his store. The dad asks him to make a delivery to none other than (hold your breath) Michael Jackson's residence.
MJ is weaving his magic, sending out his messenger bats to sprinkle stardust on the two, unbeknownst to them.
They run into each other and end up in MJ's mansion only to be greeted by a talking chimp, Bubbles, who tells them 'the music will get you where you need to go'.
The duo reaches a pumpkin patch led by 'Hay Man', only to see a field of dancing pumpkins that stops dancing at their arrival. The boy and girl tell Hay Man they have no problem with dancing or music, but 'Conformity', an evil witch arrives on the scene, trying to prevent them from following the music in their hearts.
'Hay Man' quickly gives the duo his amulet from his brain and tells them to save it.
Next, there is a scene with spiders. Ugh. A whole group of spiders is led by a chief spider, and they form the 'Elite Spider Corps' or 'Conformity's' security guards.
The girl makes the spiders dance to MJ's song "All I wanna say is that they don't really care about us" , at which point, Conformity appears on the scene and tries to kill the spider chief. He is, however, saved by one of his guards. At this point, he gives his amulet to the girl and boy for safekeeping.
Bubbles appears and tells the duo to take a leap of faith.
The girl is shown as brave and smart throughout.
Next appears, Franklinstein, Conformity's chief scientist. He is a cat, who once tried to make music, but after losing his 8 lives is using his remaining life being the evil pawn of Conformity. The cat has made the 'Conformulator', a torture device that will force everyone to conform. Once a person's song is put into the 'Conformulator', it is killed forever.
'Conformity' makes an appearance again with her zombie horde, while MJ also appears and everyone dances to 'Thriller'. The boy( aspiring DJ, remember!) reverses the polarity of the Conformulator by putting in the amulets the duo has collected thus far. This keeps the zombies at bay. Jackson is 'absorbed' by 'Conformity' who takes the shape of a beast. But he transforms her into a beauty who dances.
It is then that the duo realizes that the Hay Man, the Spider Chief, were all avatars of Michael Jackson.
So Michael Jackson transformed the beast of conformity into the beauty of music and dance. The message I received is that we must always follow the music in our hearts.
